MY STORY...
Beauty is my life, my passion, and my thing. I am absolutely in love with my work and have put a lot of love into every single product I make. After 30 years as a cosmetologist, I have decided to put all of myself into developing simple yet super-effective home care beauty products that will take the minimum amount of time and effort and give the best possible results…
BEAUTY IS MY LIFE, SINCE FOREVER….
Beauty, skincare, and makeup have flowed through my veins since my teenage years, ever since I visited a local esthetician with concerns about my acne-prone skin. I immediately fell in love with the whole ''beauty thing'. I enrolled in a four-year cosmetologist school in Zagreb, Croatia… and never looked back. After school and a few years spent working in beauty salons in Croatia, I got really bored with the traditional way the treatments were done. With an adventurous mind and heart, I soon accepted a job on cruise ships.
QUEEN ELIZABETH II
Before joining my first job in the SPA on board the cruise ship Queen Elizabeth II, the beauty education in the UK was exceptional. I got a real and fantastic idea of what beauty therapy and cosmetology are about. To this day, this British beauty training and the knowledge I have gained have influenced a lot of things I do. During my work on board QEII, I am forever grateful that at age 22, I ''saw the world''. From Cruising into New York Harbor during sunrise (with the Twins in the background) to Sydney Opera, Hong Kong, Seychelles, Cape Town, Alaska, Canada, the Mediterranean…the list goes on….
LONDON
After my cruise ship adventure, I decided that I wanted more adventures in my life, so I stayed in London for another six months of education. However, six months turned into ten years of London life.
Working in London is ''the experience'' I believe every young woman or man should try. It is an astonishingly beautiful city, with many opportunities to learn about your work, life, and yourself…I have been super lucky to work in some of the most beautiful Salons and spas in Chelsea, Notting Hill, and Covent Garden and as a skincare advisor at Harrods, Harvey Nichols, and Fenwicks. My clients have been some of the most known celebrities from Hollywood, sports, and fashion….
CROATIA
10 years later, I felt I was ''done'' with London and had nothing else to give. I missed my family and decided to move back to Croatia when everyone said it was the craziest thing to do as it wasn't the best of time economically …
But I didn't listen…I came back with a ton of ideas. I soon realized I could offer beauty treatments nobody else was offering in Croatia, like eyebrow threading (which was huge in London), new facials like Hydrafacial (which soon became the world's most popular treatment), etc.… I soon became the "queen of eyebrows" in the country, having a two-month waiting list and being the first cosmetologist to introduce the Hydrafacial in the country.
TWINS
Years later, I became a super proud mom of twins, a girl and a boy. Being a mum has never really been on my agenda, but life sometimes surprises you in the most beautiful way and shows you the right path when you least expect it. Today, my twins are my biggest love and inspiration, and I cannot imagine my life any different. Having children has made me decide on my future beauty plans….
INSPIRATION
As every new mum has that super mum glow, unfortunately, that ''super glow'' vanished quickly with endless sleepless nights. My skin wasn't fresh and young-looking anymore. As much as I tried to take a rest, no amount of skincare worked anymore. I started to think of making my own cosmetics line…something that would be pro-grade, quick, easy to use, and have a lot of results with a minimum number of products…As a cosmetologist with almost 30 years of experience, I understand every skin problem. I had a lot of clients with different skin concerns going through my hands. Still, I also experienced my own skin problems, from acne to hyperpigmentation to severely dry and severely oily skin, so I can really relate to every single person with problematic skin. The idea was born….
THE BRAND
I have been educated by some of the best skincare brands in the world – from Elemis, Skeyndor, Clinique, Comfort Zone, Zo Skin by Dr Obagi, Mesoestetic, Hydrafacial, Shu Uemura, Biologique Recherche, BUT I had my own vision in my mind, vision of products I want to use in my clinic and what kind of results I want to get. All the brands I used to work with are exquisite. Still, I wanted to create even more beautiful results with sensorial effects. Something that would calm the over-sensitive skin, stripped with too many products that ruin the skin barrier, and to achieve that with as few products as possible, every woman or a man would love to use daily.
But I also wanted to create a ''feel good'' sensorial effect, smell relaxing, and soothe the mind, all of this without using too many too-strong ingredients and fake results. So, I founded the Manuela Picard Skincare and Makeup brand in 2021…. With the idea that less is more in mind, I introduced a few products I thought women and men would enjoy. As time passed, I made the product formulas better and better. I am proud to have achieved what I wanted in the first place: easy-to-use products to soothe the skin and the mind, to really work, and for my clients to really fall in love and ''can't live without it''.
THE MISSION
Today, more than ever, I am passionately dedicated to researching various formulas and ingredients to provide even better skincare and a unique skincare/makeup experience that enriches your everyday life and highlights your natural beauty for everyone, from the first pimple at the age of 12 to age 100 and more. You should never stop caring for your skin at any age.
THE FUTURE
I am proud that three years after my brand's launch, you can order my skincare all over the world. I am currently working on new skincare and makeup products that I will proudly present to the world shortly…
